FIRE & SAFETY

Our environment is kept safe and secure for our children, staff and parents. Our staff are recruited based on qualifications, experience, background check and clearance from our school clinic that they are medically fit to care for our children.

SECURITY

As part of our security measures,

We have;

  • security cameras
  • scanners to search anyone entering the school premises
  • security guards
  • cards for authorised pick-up persons

HYGIENE, HEALTH AND SAFETY

In the case of your child being ill;

  • you will be notified immediately by a call
  • we will expect the child to be picked up within two hours of speaking to the parent
  • we will make sure the child is as comfortable as possible, away from the other children while waiting for your arrival

As part of our hygiene/ health precautions, we have;

A licensed School Nurse that ensures;

  • all students and staff are safe and well
  • all medications are correctly administered

A HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT officer that;

  • organises safety and first aid training for staff quarterly.
  • ensures the safety policies of the school are duly followed.
  • ensures the school is fumigated monthly.

FIRE/SAFETY DRILL

Once every term, the school organises a fire drill. On that day, the fire alarm goes off, followed by a long bell ring. Students are expected to stop whatever is being done at the time, form a line and walk briskly to the closest exit door, then to the MUSTER POINT for head count. Do not run, push or panic.

In the event of a real fire, you are expected to follow the same procedure as the Fire Drill.

Safety drill is not different from the fire drill, but in this case when you hear a loud bang or sound, you are expected to go under your desk, until you are instructed otherwise. It is important that you do not panic.
